The last time Duzz Down San Records x Mono Massive x Vertual Vertigo teamed up for a record they left hip hop heads world wide up chucking at the bar from last nights booze, with their EP “Drink Tickets.” This time Vertual Vertigo landed in Innsbruck Austria where Mono Massive kidnapped the crew and locked them in his cave for a week. With only a mic, a few intoxicants, a MPC, and a SP 1200 in the cave, the STALACTITES EP was born. Continuing the tradition of the V’s, the ep brings out the roots of the original hip hop that the crew was founded on in addition to trying some new things. New comer JUST JAY contributes more than the later release, as well as features from Dj Sight, DJ Chrisfader, Mosch, and a beat colab between Mono and Vert Producer/DJ Japandrew. Ezekiel38 and Mono carry the Record and mesh well with every track and different theme expressed. Cerebral Vortex beams in just in time to finish off the record as well as a sneaky remix from Berlin beat maker Suff Daddy, which make it a complete circle of VERT. All in all, this is something classic, in that every song where’s a different outfit and topics range from Drunk nights and Austrian parties with “elephant trunk”, travel and relationships on the feel good joint “cant let go”, to the positive “Lucy” which chats about a young girl who took a wrong turn in life. STALACTITES may sound like it came from a cave, but it is in no way prehistoric, in fact, the record sets goals for other crews to imitate. In today’s age of schooling heads Vertual Vertigo x Mono Massive secure the slot for valedictorian.
